NAGASAKI--Along with getting their kicks out of watching pro soccer games, fans at the newly opened Nagasaki Stadium City here can enjoy a birds-eye view of the pitch from a zip line high in the sky.
Wearing a harness suspended from a wire cable, riders can whizz along the line over the Peace Stadium for about 20 seconds.
The zip line covers 258 meters, starting atop a 60-meter-tall office building and ending at the top of a 40-meter-tall shopping mall.
The weight limit for thrill-seekers is between 40 and 110 kilograms.
They can travel either in an upright position or in a prone position while enjoying views of Mount Inasayama, Nagasaki Port and other sightseeing spots.
According to the Japanet Group, a leading TV shopping company that built the large commercial complex that includes the stadium near JR Nagasaki Station, it is the country's first zip line suspended between two buildings.
The attraction is not in use when the stadium is used for games or other events or when the weather is bad.
The charge is 2,500 yen ($16).
Riders can rent a 360-degree camera that can be strapped on the arm for 1,500 yen. They will receive the footage after their ride.
