All items snatched in a robbery at a luxury store in Tokyo’s Ginza district have apparently been recovered, including 70 Rolex watches worth more than 250 million yen ($1.8 million), investigative sources said.

Police discovered around 40 watches, accessories and belts in a white getaway van that was abandoned on a narrow street in Tokyo’s Minato Ward shortly after the evening robbery on May 8.

Crowbars, knives and gloves believed to have been used by the bandits were also found in the van, which featured a license plate that was reportedly stolen from a car in Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, on May 7, the sources said.

A neighborhood security camera captured four people getting out of the van and fleeing, with one of them carrying a black bag.

Less than an hour after the van was found, police arrested four teenagers, aged 16 to 19, on suspicion of trespassing on an apartment building near where the vehicle was abandoned. They are believed to be connected to the robbery.

Police later discovered a black bag containing about 30 watches in nearby shrubbery.

Three masked robbers forced their way into Quark Ginza 888, a store specializing in Rolex watches, in Tokyo’s Chuo Ward around 6:15 p.m. on May 8.

They threatened a store clerk at knife point, smashed display cases with crowbars and stole luxury wristwatches in a two-minute span, the sources said.
