Tokyo reported 22 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 12, down three from a week ago, according to metropolitan government officials.
The latest tally brought the daily average of new infections in the capital over the week through Nov. 12 to 25.1, or 129.4 percent of the figure for the preceding week.
It marked the fourth straight day the average exceeded 100 percent.
The number of serious cases in Tokyo requiring ventilators or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, also known as an ECMO lung bypass machine, dropped by one from the previous day to eight.
No new deaths from the novel coronavirus were reported in Tokyo.
