Tokyo reported 88 new novel coronavirus infections on Sept. 22, the second consecutive day the daily count fell below 100, according to the metropolitan government.
In the latest tally, one patient was under the age of 10, and two were between 10 and 19. Twenty-two of the new patients were in their 20s and 18 were in their 30s.
Seventeen patients were in their 40s, 12 were in their 50s, and four were in their 60s. Six patients were in their 70s, four in their 80s, and two in their 90s.
The capital logged 98 new cases on Sept. 21. It was the first daily tally under 100 since Sept. 14.
