Maria Pérez breastfed her daughter between 2010 and 2016. “Since my daughter had a low birth weight, it felt imperative to breastfeed. As a freelance actress, I’ve always managed things by myself. I expressed milk in the toilets or at home in the evenings. My daughter refused formula milk, so I carried on for a long time. When she was 4 years old, we consulted a psychologist just in case, to know if there was something wrong. But I left feeling relieved of any guilt, and she continued to suckle on occasion until she was nearly 6. Now she’s 11, she’s very independent, and never ill.” (Magali Girardin)
