Popular Japanese singer Ado will perform live at the opening of the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025, the event organizer announced.
The concert will take place on April 13 at the EXPO Arena, an outdoor event space at the venue on the Yumeshima artificial island in Osaka Bay.
“I am looking forward to showcasing the beauty of Japanese culture and music that I love to the rest of the world through my performance,” Ado said in a statement released on the expo’s website on Sept. 19.
The performance of the globally acclaimed anonymous artist was also announced in The New York Times on Sept. 18.
Information about the ticket reservation process and other details will be announced at a later date.
The Osaka Expo has faced mounting problems during its preparation, including delays in construction, escalating costs, low public interest and sluggish advance ticket sales.
The organizers hope the live concert will generate excitement and boost ticket sales for the challenged world’s fair.
