A special “Gundam” exhibition is now running in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district, celebrating the theatrical release of a feature film adaptation of the “Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom” TV series.
The “Seed & Gundam Series” exhibition will be held until May 6 at Anime Tokyo Station, a new hub of anime culture that opened its doors last October.
In addition to production materials and illustrations for the original TV series, items on display feature a timeline of the anime franchise that started 45 years ago, along with panels of mobile suits (robots) and plastic model kits.
Showcased on the first basement floor are storyboards, cels and other items stored by the Tokyo metropolitan government, giving visitors a glimpse into the anime production process.
