NAGAKUTE, Aichi Prefecture--Ghibli Park here will introduce a three-tier ticket system to coincide with the March 16 opening next year of the Valley of Witches area.
The theme park is based on anime films produced by Studio Ghibli Inc.
The Ghibli Park O-Sanpo Day Pass, which gives access to all five areas of the park, is priced at 3,500 yen ($25).
The fee rises to 4,000 yen on weekends and holidays for adults. Children from those aged 4 to including elementary school pupils can get in for 1,750 yen(2,000 yen).
The Ghibli Park O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium, which gives access to not only all five areas but also five buildings including Satsuki and Mei’s House, will sell for 7,300 yen (7,800 yen) for adults and 3,650 yen (3,900 yen) for children.
Tickets will go on sale at 2 p.m. on Jan. 10 for visits in March.
The Ghibli Park Light Sanpo Pass, which allows entry to four areas but not Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, will sell one week prior to the visit for 1,500 yen (2,000 yen) for adults and 750 yen (1,000 yen) for children.
The Valley of Witches area will also be equipped with a fee-based merry-go-round decorated with animals associated with Ghibli works, in addition to other attractions.
