NAGAKUTE, Aichi Prefecture--Ghibli Park will open two new attractions--Mononoke Village and the Valley of Witches--on Nov. 1 this year and March 16 next year respectively, the Aichi prefectural government announced.
Based on anime films produced by Studio Ghibli Inc., the theme park here opened last November with Ghibli’s Big Warehouse, Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest areas.
The park had around 590,000 visitors in the five months through March, according to prefectural officials.
Reservations are necessary to enter the park.
Bundled tickets for admission to the Mononoke Village and Ghibli’s Big Warehouse areas cost 3,000 yen ($21) for adults and 1,500 yen for elementary school pupils and children aged 4 or older on weekends and holidays between Nov. 1 and Feb. 12 next year.
Tickets for the areas other than Mononoke Village are sold separately.
Ticket prices will be revised again after the Valley of Witches area opens.
The whole park will be closed between Feb. 13 and March 15 next year for major maintenance.
