Suntory Holdings Ltd. will raise prices for more than 100 of its beverages in April, including a 2.25-times increase in the cost of some of its premium domestic whiskies, the company said Nov. 21.
Hibiki 30 Years Old, Yamazaki 25 Years Old, and Hakushu 25 Years Old, each currently priced at a tax-exclusive 160,000 yen ($1,080) for a 700-milliliter bottle, will cost 360,000 yen starting with the April shipments.
Most of the 117 Suntory products that will be more expensive are whiskies, liqueurs and wines.
The price for Yamazaki and Hakushu whiskies labeled without an age statement will jump by 56 percent from 4,500 yen to 7,000 yen.
The company said proceeds from the price hikes will help to cover expenses to expand storage facilities and equipment for both its Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as for advertising and the soaring cost of ingredients.
Suntory earlier raised prices for its premium whiskies in April 2022.
The company said the price of Whisky White will be raised by 20 percent from 1,174 yen to 1,410 yen, and Bowmore 12 Years Old will see a 30 percent increase from 5,060 yen to 6,600 yen.
