Passengers with tickets on the Sanyo Shinkansen Line can breathe a sigh of relief, as West Japan Railway Co. announced on Aug. 10 that bullet trains between Hiroshima and Kokura are operating in time for the Obon holidays.
A total of 25 Sanyo Shinkansen had been suspended on Aug. 9th and 10th, including some section cancellations, due to Typhoon No. 6, affecting some 5,200 passengers.
On Aug. 10, the safety of facilities were confirmed and Sanyo Shinkansen Line trains, which had been canceled from the first departure, resumed operations at 7:45 a.m.
However, all conventional lines in the Yamaguchi area have reportedly remained suspended from the first departure.
