Tokyo confirmed 421 fresh cases of COVID-19 on April 11, the first time in five days for the daily count to drop below 500, but still 66 more than last Sunday, metropolitan health officials said.
The daily average over the week through April 11 was 468.0, an increase of 20.1 percent over the preceding week, extending an upward trend.
Of the newly confirmed cases, 138 patients were in their 20s, larger than any age group.
They were followed by 78 in their 30s and 61 in their 40s. Patients aged 65 or older stood at 46.
