Tokyo confirmed 25 new COVID-19 cases on June 12, according to sources, the second day in a row fresh infections topped 20.

The Tokyo metropolitan government on the evening of June 11 lifted the “Tokyo alert,” which it imposed June 2 to heighten residents’ awareness that a second wave of infections might be on the horizon.
