A poem by Atsushi Shimosaka captions this photo, saying, “Aug. 25, 2020: ‘Darling, do you still remember me?’ A jab-like question uttered casually by my wife makes me feel stabbed in the heart. All I can do is reply, ‘Yes,’ with a smile on my face. What was taken for granted is no longer so. Pitifully, I have to live with uncertainties over everything somehow.
