KYOTO—The World Heritage Ninnaji temple here is offering a stunning illumination event this autumn, with its national treasure, the Golden Hall, appearing to float through a serene sea of luminous clouds.
This enchanting, artificial cloudscape is created with fine mist and gentle lighting, and further enhanced by the spectacular autumn foliage all around.
The evening light-up event runs on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and national holidays through Dec. 8, except for Nov. 15, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
Admission is available from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with tickets priced at 2,800 yen ($18) for adults and free entry for high school students and younger.
