OSAKA--Hordes of visitors descended on Osaka Castle Park, where around 3,000 cherry trees, including the Someiyoshino variety, are now in full bloom.
A festive atmosphere took hold as fans of the annual spectacle lounged on plastic sheets under the trees in Chuo Ward on April 6, while eating and drinking.
The cherry blossoms were in full bloom two days later than normal and 10 days later than last year. The best time to view the blossoms is until mid-April.
