Princess Kako departed for Peru on Nov. 1 to begin a 10-day trip to celebrate the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and the South American country.

This is the second official international friendship visit for Kako, the second daughter of Crown Prince Fumihito and a niece of Emperor Naruhito, following her 2019 trip to Austria and Hungary.

The princess will attend a ceremony organized by the local Japanese community in Lima on Nov. 3.

She will also visit a local school in the capital on Nov. 6 to interact with children with special needs using sign language.

Other plans include meeting with Peruvian President Dina Boluarte and visiting the country’s famed archeological sites.
