OSAKA--If money is no object, then perhaps this condominium is for you.
The most expensive unit in a planned 46-floor complex just north of JR Osaka Station will have an asking price of 2.5 billion yen ($16 million), making it the priciest in the Kansai region.
Owners of other slightly cheaper deluxe condos will be able to use a special elevator to transport their cars from street level right up to their unit while still in the driver’s seat.
A special car gallery will be built to allow the owner to keep an around-the-clock view of the car from the living room.
The Grand Green Osaka project is being handled by a consortium of nine companies, including Mitsubishi Estate Co. The part of the complex with the indoor parking feature is being called The North Residence.
A total of 484 units will be constructed. The cheapest unit will not be available for under 100 million yen.
The complex is scheduled to open in fiscal 2027.
Sales of the condo units will begin from February 2024, with completion of construction planned for December the following year.
Twenty-eight units on the fifth to 18th floors will have the special car gallery.
Group officials said there were very few condominiums anywhere in Japan with such a convenience for owners.
“We are seeking to build a residence with a touch that will improve as time passes and that can become an asset for the entire community,” said Yoshihiro Nakai, president and CEO of Osaka-based Sekisui House Ltd., another member of the group.
The Grand Green Osaka complex will feature a large urban park as well as a hotel and commercial buildings.
