Police have questioned a woman who allegedly groped South Korean performer DJ Soda during a music festival in Osaka, investigative sources said on Aug. 24.

The 21-year-old woman, a company employee who resides in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, reportedly voluntarily spoke to police.

She reportedly told police, “When DJ Soda approached the audience, I pressed my right hand to her right breast and hugged her over the fence, giving her a kiss on the shoulder.”

She also admitted that, “I was so excited to see her that I touched her body.”

The incident occurred at the Music Circus ’23 festival in Sennan, Osaka Prefecture, on Aug. 13.

The event organizer filed a criminal complaint against two men and a woman on suspicion of groping DJ Soda, although the three suspects were unidentified at the time. They are accused of indecency without consent and assault.

Osaka prefectural police later identified the woman from photos taken at the festival venue and security camera footage.

The woman then voluntarily answered questions at a police station in Ibaraki Prefecture on Aug. 23, the sources said.

Two 20-year-old men have already turned themselves in at a police station and voluntarily responded to Osaka prefectural police questions.
