OSAKA--Storied stationery maker Sakura Color Products Corp. based here is celebrating its 100th anniversary by issuing 40 colors usually not sold commercially in a limited made to order set of 100 colored pencils in October.
Twelve of the 40 colors such as pearl orange and pearl yellow are specially crafted using glittering pearl pigments for the first time, the company said.
"You can buy 60 of the colors anytime, but this is the only opportunity to get the limited-edition ones," said a representative of the company in charge of public relations.
The pencil set comes in a calming black container, which can also be used as an interior accessory.
The Coupy-Pencil 100 Colors Black Package Edition will sell for 16,500 yen ($150).
Reservations for the set will be accepted at stationery shops in Japan and online.
