SUZUKA, Mie Prefecture--Formula One fans can watch demonstration driving by a Japanese racer on the tracks of F1 motor racing circuits worldwide, which is streamed on the screen of a special virtual racing simulator set up at the city office here.
The simulator uses high-quality CGI imagery to re-create the race tracks and features the perspective of Yuki Tsunoda, the first Japanese grand prix driver in seven years, racing for Red Bull-owned AlphaTauri.
The Suzuka Motorsports Supporters Association, a nonprofit organization headed by Osamu Hatagawa, is providing assistance for the event.
The simulator is part of a special section the city office installed in its lobby to celebrate the official decision to hold the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit for three consecutive years.
The section is dedicated to countries and regions that host the F1, the world's highest class of auto racing.
On display are panels and other exhibits featuring host countries and racing tracks of 21 of 23 races, including the season-finale Abu Dhabi Grand Prix held in December. The exhibits are replaced to coincide with the week during which each race is held.
