After spiking above 50 the previous day, the number of new COVID-19 cases in Tokyo continued to be high on June 25 with 48 reported, according to sources.

On June 24, the capital recorded 55 new cases, exceeding 50 for the first time in 50 days since May 5, when 57 new cases were added in a single day.

The 55 cases also marked the most new infections in Tokyo since the state of emergency was lifted across Japan on May 25.
