For the seventh consecutive day, there were fewer than 50 new confirmed infections of the novel coronavirus in Tokyo.
According to sources, there were 28 new cases confirmed in the capital on May 12.
Tokyo is under the national state of emergency, which will run until May 31. It is listed along with Osaka and 11 other prefectures where special precautions are needed to prevent a further spread of infections.
