Tomoya Hase, 20, was found unconscious on the morning of Oct. 26 in a park in Ebetsu in the eastern suburb of Sapporo.
The victim, from the neighboring city of Chitose, was found naked and without his belongings. He had suffered multiple bruises and injuries, primarily to his face and upper body.
Police reported that six individuals turned themselves in by Oct. 30.
The suspects include Ama Yagihara and Haoto Kawamura, both 20-year-old female university students; an 18-year-old male high school student; and three males ages 16, 17 and 18.
They are accused of assaulting Hase between the night of Oct. 25 and the following morning, resulting in his death.
Authorities have not disclosed whether they admitted to or denied the allegations.
The six suspects are local friends from Ebetsu and nearby areas.
