The Chinese foreign ministry on Tuesday said China has “no intention” to violate any country’s airspace, adding that “the competent Chinese authorities are learning and verifying the situation.”

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that the relevant departments in China were still trying to understand the situation.

"The two sides have maintained communication through existing working channels," he said at a regular press conference.

"I'd also like to emphasize that China has no intention of invading the airspace of any country."
