WAKAYAMA--One of the largest fashion events in Japan, the Tokyo Girls Collection, will be held here on Feb. 3 at the Wakayama Big Whale Hall, the event’s executive committee has announced.
During a news conference in late October, Yuichi Tsujimoto, an executive officer of W Tokyo Inc., which organizes the show, said that the company intends to work with local people to make the event even more exciting than the previous one also held in Wakayama in February 2023.
The prefectural government will jointly host the event for the first time and plans to feature a diverse range of people on stage, and to be inclusive of different genders and disabilities.
“It is an opportunity for the prefecture to change its direction toward an inclusive society,” said Governor Shuhei Kishimoto.
Models Yua Shinkawa, Sae Okazaki, Naomi Trauden, Yuka Suzuki and many others will take the stage at this event.
Tickets range from 8,500 yen ($60) to 12,500 yen.
