HIROSHIMA--A special exhibition began here on July 25 displaying messages the leaders at the Group of Seven summit left behind in May.

Admission is free to the exhibition, titled “G7 Hiroshima Summit Reminiscences,” which runs until Aug. 31 at the International Conference Center Hiroshima within the Peace Memorial Park.

Sixty-one items are on display, including messages G-7 leaders, the leaders of the other invited nations and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote in the guestbook at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

Two origami paper cranes U.S. President Joe Biden brought to the museum and the table at the Iwaso inn on Miyajima island where the G-7 leaders enjoyed dinner are also on display.

Haruto Suzuki, 11, visited the exhibition on July 25 with his family who were visiting Hiroshima from Matsusaka, Mie Prefecture.

“I want peace in a world without war or military conflict,” Haruto said.

To prevent its deterioration, the guestbook will only be on display until Aug. 7. A replica will take its place from the following day.

The exhibition, which the Hiroshima city government and the Citizens Council for the Hiroshima Summit jointly organized, is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
