Tokyo confirmed 16 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Nov. 27, the same number as the previous Saturday.
The daily average of new cases for the week ending Nov. 27 came to 15.7, or 89.2 percent of the average of the previous week, according to metropolitan government officials.
Seven patients were deemed to have symptoms serious enough to require the use of a ventilator or other equipment to breathe. The figure was unchanged from the previous day.
