Tokyo reported 27 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 25, up 22 from the day before and seven more than the same day a week ago. 

The seven-day average of new infections in Tokyo through Nov. 25 stood at 15.3, or 78.1 percent of the figure for the preceding week.

The number of severely ill patients in the capital as defined by the Tokyo metropolitan government, meaning the patients are on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung bypass machines, stood at eight, unchanged from the day before.
