People in Tokyo brought their yoga to new heights as they stretched and relaxed on the roof of the tallest building in the Shibuya district on Aug. 26.
Tokyo yogis attended the first “Roof Top Yoga” event at the Shibuya Sky observation area on the roof of Shibuya Scramble Square for a workout with a spectacular view.
Shibuya Sky reaches about 230 meters above the ground, and Mount Fuji and the Tokyo Skytree can be seen from there when weather is clear--making it the perfect place to reach for the sky and then do their tree and mountain poses.
The yoga practitioners also took precautions to protect against the novel coronavirus.
The 50 event participants had their body temperatures taken and used hand sanitizer before entering the observation area to prevent a spread of infections. They enjoyed yoga while maintaining a roughly 2-meter distance from each other to avoid getting too close.
