A live-action feature film adaptation of "Monster Hunter" will hit cinemas on Sept. 4 in Japan and the United States.
A recently unveiled photo from the movie shows the hunters, played by Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa, covered with scars and dirt, standing against the backdrop of the sun setting over a deserted area.
The movie is based on Capcom Co.'s popular action video game series of the same name. It has sold 61 million copies since the first title released in 2004.
The film adaptation is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who also helmed the "Resident Evil" films based on another Capcom video game franchise. Jovovich has played the protagonist in the "Resident Evil" film adaptations.
The film's story centers around Lt. Artemis (Jovovich). While her elite unit is on a reconnaissance mission in a desert, they are engulfed in a gigantic storm. But when Artemis comes to, she finds herself stranded in an entirely different world hidden behind ours.
