KUKI, Saitama Prefecture--Fans of a popular anime series who want to get married can count their lucky stars that they can receive a keepsake memento just for them here.
The Kuki city government is offering a marriage registration form featuring characters from the "Lucky Star" series.
According to officials, many fans make pilgrimages to Washinomiyajinja shrine in the city as it is believed to be a locale of the anime, making the site a "holy place" for them.
The marriage registration form was produced as part of efforts to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the merger of the former Kuki city and the neighboring Kurihashi, Washimiya and Shobu towns. It is aimed at "Lucky Star" fans who have reached marrying age.
The special form is offered at the counters of the main city hall building and three branch offices. With the document created in a two-sheet carbon copy format, couples can take home a copy as a memento after submitting one filled out with the necessary information.
The document, offered at no charge, can be filed at any municipality across the country.
In addition, two versions of a certificate of acceptance of marriage registration are issued for applicants for a fee. The A-4 size edition is priced at 350 yen ($3.25) and the B-4 version costs 1,400 yen.
