Tsuburaya Productions Co. and Toei Animation Co. have joined forces to co-produce "Kaiju Decode," an all-new CG anime series intended for a worldwide audience.
The two companies gave little away in revealing the story's plot, other than it is about a girl and "kaiju" monsters.
Tsuburaya Productions is best known for the "Ultra" superhero franchise featuring live-action "tokusatsu" special effects. Toei Animation, founded more than 60 years ago, is the largest anime studio in the country.
The companies said that with their combined expertise they aim to produce a high-quality show that appeals to audiences around the world.
Toei Animation producer Koichi Noguchi, whose previous works include "Expelled from Paradise" and "Kado: The Right Answer," and Tsuburaya Productions' Masahiro Onda serve as producers for the ambitious project.
Details were unveiled at the Tsuburaya Convention 2019 event hosted by Tsuburaya Productions in December.
