“Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045,” the latest and first full 3D-CG installment from the manga and anime franchise, will be streamed worldwide on Netflix in spring.
A promotional teaser clip and a teaser visual for the series have been released.
The series is co-directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who has handled the “Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C.” series, and Shinji Aramaki, who is known for the “Appleseed” series also based on Masamune Shirow’s comics.
Production I.G Inc. and Sola Digital Arts Inc. are co-producing the series.
The original manga by Shirow started its run in 1989 in a special edition of Kodansha Ltd.’s Young Magazine comic anthology. It was turned into an animated feature film of the same name by Mamoru Oshii in 1995.
The title has also spawned many other adaptations, including a live-action Hollywood movie starring Scarlett Johansson in 2017.
The teaser clip featuring footage from the series and the teaser visual showing the protagonist, Major Motoko Kusanagi, are available on the official website at (https://www.ghostintheshell-sac2045.jp/).
