Various events themed on the “Evangelion” anime franchise will start on Jan. 10 at the Hakone hot spring resort in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The “Evangelion x Hakone 2020 Meet Evangelion in Hakone” project, organized by the Odakyu Group, which includes Odakyu Electric Railway Co., and producers of the anime, will run until June 30.
A key visual exclusively drawn for the project shows Shinji, Kaoru, Rei and other characters dressed in casual clothes against the backdrop of beautiful nature. It will be used for bus decorations and exclusive goods in Hakone, which is featured in the anime series.
A railway station, buses and various facilities across the area will be decorated with anime illustrations, while exclusive tours, ticket packages and original items will be available. A stamp-print collecting game will also be held.
The Hakone Kowakien Yunessun hot spring amusement park will offer “Evangelion”-themed attractions.
And a secret event is being planned at Lake Ashinoko.
