Tokyo confirmed 429 new novel coronavirus infections on Feb. 7, the 10th consecutive day for cases to remain below 1,000.
Metropolitan government officials said the latest figure put the weekly average of new daily cases at 572, down 33 percent from the previous week.
Officials said 79 patients were in their 20s, 75 in their 30s, 55 in their 40s and 52 in their 50s. A total of 123 were aged 65 or older.
They added that serious cases numbered 111, a decrease of three from the previous day.
