Narita Anime Deck (Provided by Kadokawa Corp.)
Visitors to Japan can now experience anime culture before even stepping out of Narita Airport.
Narita Anime Deck, an anime-themed entertainment facility, opened Nov. 28 on the second floor of the No. 2 passenger terminal at the key gateway in Chiba Prefecture outside Tokyo.
With a floor space of 760 square meters, the facility includes: a character goods shop featuring exclusive products and special exhibitions, restaurants themed on Japanese festivals, and an entertainment cafe where customers are welcomed by costume-clad waitresses and served food items related to popular anime titles.
The cafe also offers shows featuring voice-over actors and other performances.
Narita Anime Deck is run by publisher Kadokawa Corp. to bolster its brand profile at home and abroad. An exhibition space called Narita Anime Road, which is jointly managed by Narita International Airport Corp. and Anime Tourism Association, opened the same day in a space adjacent to the facility.
To mark its opening, Narita Anime Deck is collaborating with “Love Live! Sunshine!!” and “Bungo Stray Dogs.”
